We visited Callum Scothern to have a catch up before the finals in November – Callum is one of our IMI Skill Auto Body Repair 2017 Finalists
College – Central College Nottingham
Employer – Sytner Nottingham
We caught up with Callum at his workplace, having the chance to run through all things Skill Auto and answer any questions about the Skills Show, here’s what Callum had to say –
“I’ve always been a fan of cars and knew I needed a trade. My dad has old cars and the gentleman that worked on his car allowed me to do work experience there. I left school and got an apprenticeship.
The National Qualifiers taught me how to cope under pressure. I was close to the time on all tasks so knew I had to work methodically. I need to work on time management.
At the finals, I’m looking forward to having a shot at winning. Also the hotel looks really nice. Would definitely recommend this competition to others. It will always help you.
Career wise – I want to be as good as I can be. I wanted to work for a prestige company which I am, I want to have as much training as possible”
Hobbies – Tennis, Football, guitar and running
Favourite car – Anything Ford
Best part of the job – Working with a good group of people with same interest
