Andrew Kelly is one of our Heavy Vehicle Engineering finalists ready to take on the challenge of the Skills Show in November. We met Andrew at Ford & Slater in Coventry to run through all things Skill Auto, find out more below…
College – City of Bristol College
Employer – Ford & Slater Coventry
Andrew studied at City of Bristol College and is employed by Ford & Slater in Coventry, although nervous, he’s looking forward to the challenge.
“The best part of the national qualifiers was working on different vehicles. So far I’ve learnt that I need to keep calm. I was really nervous before the qualifiers.
I choose the industry because I wanted to work in this role. I originally studied level 2 at City of Bristol College then got a call from Skillnet with the HV opportunity.
When it comes to the finals, I’m not sure what to expect at the finals, I’m looking forward to it though. I’d definitely recommend the competition to others thinking of taking part.
In the future, I just want to keep progressing”
Hobbies – Cars – working on my own cars
Favourite car – Land Rover Discovery
Best part of the job – It’s different everyday
