AutoRaise are bringing together over 40 repairers, partners and industry stakeholders at EMTEC College, Ruddington on Tuesday 5th March to guide employers through the process of finding, employing and retaining young people as an Apprentice

The industry charity has put together a full day’s schedule to advise and guide employers on best practice for recruiting and retaining Apprentices. The day is sponsored by AutoRaise’ Platinum Partner Enterprise Rent A Car and will include a tour of the EMTEC College facilities and the opportunity to observe current serving apprentices being assessed for selection to represent this year’s World Skills UK Team.
“This represents a perfect opportunity for employers who are considering taking on apprentices to understand the whole process; from finding, selecting and onboarding a new apprentice to retention techniques” says Bob Linwood, AutoRaise CEO. “Being able to see a modern training provider in action and understand exactly what the whole apprenticeship journey looks like in this way is unique and we are looking forward to showing repairers the process and demonstrating some great success stories that the industry has already achieved”.
The schedule comprises a series of short, informative presentations from various industry stakeholders, all designed to demonstrate the positivity around young people in apprenticeships in the vehicle repair sector. This event is one of a series of events that AutoRaise are involved with during National Apprenticeship Week, which includes a Mentoring Workshop and a social media campaign that engages with young people up and down the country and showcases the benefits of working in the UK’s vehicle repair sector.
Spaces are limited and strictly available on a first come, first served basis and the event is already close to capacity. If any repairers are still interested in joining the event, they are urged to contact Bob Linwood immediately at bob.linwood@autoraise.co.uk
For those that are unable to attend this event, AutoRaise will be announcing dates and venues for some more Apprenticeship Information Day’s around the country in the coming weeks…
It’s essential that the industry gets behind addressing the skills shortage, whether it be taking on new apprentices, hosting Industry Showcase Events or simply helping to spread the word.
